About Me

I’m Sheree Smit, founder of CapeTownGuru, with over 20 years of hands-on experience in Cape Town’s property and hospitality industry.

My approach has always been practical and grounded in real-world experience rather than theory. I’ve worked directly with property owners, guests, contractors, and developers, which has given me a clear understanding of what actually works in this market and what doesn’t.

CapeTownGuru was built to offer something more considered and personal than traditional property management. The focus is on quality over volume, long-term value over short-term gain, and creating a seamless experience for both owners and guests.

Every property I manage is approached individually, with attention to positioning, presentation, pricing, and ongoing performance. The goal is not just to fill calendars, but to build sustainable, well-performing assets that owners can rely on.

I also work closely with investors, including international buyers, offering honest and practical guidance when it comes to purchasing and managing property in Cape Town. This includes everything from area insights to realistic rental expectations and long-term strategy.

Hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations including bookings, guest communication, check-ins, maintenance coordination, and problem-solving in real time.

Property Upgrades & Renovations
Collaborating with contractors and designers to upgrade and reposition properties, ensuring they remain competitive and aligned with market expectations.

Owner Relations & Financial Oversight
Preparing owner statements, managing income and expenses, and maintaining transparent communication with property owners.
